Alex Struijk

I run my own infrastructure. This is where I keep track of what I'm building — a home server that took my photos back from iCloud, an LLM that answers without leaving the house, and a handful of agents I don't fully trust yet. Consultant by day, sysadmin of one by night.

About

I got tired of renting my own memories. What started as a way to stop paying for storage I already owned turned into a running project about digital sovereignty: pulling photos, media, files and now inference off other people's servers and onto hardware I can physically unplug.

By day I work in consulting, mostly on AI tooling and agent development for pharma and financial services clients. The homelab is where I get to make the decisions myself — and break things without a change request.

Projects

Running

Media & NAS

A full media stack — film, series, music — plus every photo I've ever taken, migrated off iCloud and back under my own roof. Automated, indexed, and mine.

Running

Local LLM

An open-weights model running on my own GPU, with a web front end. No API keys, no rate limits, no prompts leaving the building. The foundation everything else plugs into.

Running

finagent

A research agent that tracks the Spanish market and writes up what it finds, filtered through the Zurich Axioms. Analysis only — it has never been allowed to place a trade, and it never will be.

Running

Monitoring

Fourteen health checks, hourly state snapshots, and alerts that reach me before anyone else notices. The unglamorous part that makes the rest trustworthy.
